Windows Logon - Windows 2000
Chris Cowling04-01-04, 06:21 AMsomethingHi,
looking for some help. We have recently ditched a third party that was
integrated into our systems. We have therefore changed the name and password
of the administration account that we use on the network. For some reason
the NETBIOS name on the account reverts back to the old account name. The
only reason I can think of is that we still use one NT4 Server.
We have are experiencing problems when logging onto a client or server
unless we type the full name e.g. username@domain.com. The domain name
listed in the domains drop-down box is the NETBIOS name of the domain so
this seems quite logical. We can however still logon using the old NETBIOS
account name and the new password which is undesirable for obvious reasons.
Can anybody enlighten as to what is going on and how to resolve it
please?
Yours Hopefully

see that there is spots for two names - upn and "pre-2000". Change both of them. I
think if you use security policy to change administrator name, it only changes the
upn name. --- Steve
