LiveUpdate says everything is updated.. but it is not! HELP!!

Kendall04-01-04, 07:42 PMsomethingFirst off I took the drive - put it on a clean updated
NAV machine and scanned it, and removed the
Netsky(?) virus.

Assuming the virus had corrupted NAV,
Now that I had a clean drive,
I uninstalled NAV 2003
Removed LiveReg from Add/Remove Programs
and was also going to remove LiveUpdate, but
it was not listed there.
Re-Installed NAV2003
Version now reads: 9.00.67
Subscription service still due to expire in November.
(same as before) Now tried to run LiveUpdate and it
tells me that everything is updated, and does
nothing.
I downloaded the intelligent updater and updated
the definition file. Rebooted, and STILL Liveupdate
says that everything is up to date.
Where are the configuration files/registry entries
that control this / or what can I do to fix this
problem.
By the way, LiveUpdate still does not show up in
Add/Remove Programs.
I downloaded lusetup.exe from symantec and it
told me I already had the latest version of
LiveUpdate installed.

Thanks

Kendall

Well, I guess I'm just too impatient.
I went through the uninstall process again.
A bit more thorough this time.
Not only did I go through the normal uninstall
I ran RNAV - then went through and deleted
every instance of sysmantec; LiveReg; and LiveUpdate
registry entry I could find. Then deleted Every folder having
to do with symantec, Common Files Live Reg;
Live Subscribe; LiveUpdate - EVERYTHING.
Then reinstalled.
Well.... It worked. Everything is working fine. Even
gave me another year on my subscription service.
Payback for the hassle I've had to go through just
to get NAV to work again. If the uninstall had worked
like it is suppose to, I wouldn't have had to go through
all this BS.

Have a nice day

It's ironic that Symantec sells CleanSweep to get rid of traces of
other programs but cannot completely remove its own programs.
