gpinstall.exe
Kevin Davidson06-25-04, 12:20 PMsomethingAfter the latest updates, my Norton Antivirus 2004 flagged a file call
gpinstall.exe as a threat, containing "Adware.PopAdStop", a malicious
pop-up blocker.
However, gpinstall.exe is part of the Quality Software Components
product GP-Install Configuration Builder, a freeware installation
builder program that I have used for many years. QSC is a reputable
company, http://www.qsc.co.uk/. The registry key associated with the
malicious program is not present on the machine, and I believe that the
threat warning I got from NAV is spurious.
