Multiple Requests to reboot

Baldrick 8.12.2007 22:22 Seem to be getting an inordinately high number of requests to reboot...more than a couple of times a day. I am running 297 whilst my daughter is running the stable version 125 and is also getting such requests. I know that this is sometimes requested as part of updatingt the software, espcially in the case of hot fixes...but I cannot see why this should be happening with a beta version...surely any hot fix needing to be installed should be issued in the next build? dry.gif

Can anyone advise? huh.gif Lucian Bara 8.12.2007 22:24 hi
problematic drivers were released a couple of days ago, they were rolled back and new ones were loaded. Baldrick 9.12.2007 02:01 QUOTE(Lucian Bara @ 8.12.2007 19:24) *hi

Hi Lucian

Thanks for the heads up. Can always count on you to come up with the gen on these things. bf.gif Boyfriend 9.12.2007 16:04 I can safely assume that Kaspersky Lab is very careful about false positives and throughly check its update before delivering them to update server -----> End Users.

A recent case of Symantec carelessness is "http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2704,2229576,00.asp". The Antivirus Gorilla is so careless about its customers and don't check its antiviurs updates throughly before delivering them to end users / customers. It is third time that they prove their ignorance.

Kaspersky also had faced this problem (I don't remember exact date, but this was in last quarter of 2006 or perhaps in first quarter of 2007), when they delete emails. After that Kaspersky Lab hasn't any public evidence like Symantec has. Although Kaspersky Lab current Retail HOME product Kaspersky 7.0.0.125 has certain vulnerabilities in its "klif.sys" driver, for which 7 MP1 is near completion to solve reported / known bugs in its base driver.

Just trust your antivirus vendor, if not, just think about changing it. I totally trust Kaspersky Lab. Although I am feeling their response time has now increased from 2 hours to a day. I submit them some threats, and they responded me after 2 days, and this has occurred 3 times. Strange. Lucian Bara 9.12.2007 16:08 what does false postivie have to do with this? this was a prolem with some users, an incompatibility which certain programs installed, something which didn't come up in lab testing. it has nothing to do with signature false positives, and this is no symantec/norton bash forum. Quite agree. I appreciate the response from someone trying to be helpful but it is a case of making sure that one knows what one is talking about before intervening. Never would have considered this a false positive issue anyway...does not have the profile. And you quite right Lucian, we do not bash other products here but concentrate on making KIS & KAV as close as possible to being the best. b_punk.gif Boyfriend 10.12.2007 22:30 You both are right. It is not Norton or other AV bash forum. I was just pointing to recent false positive scenario of other AV product to show superiority of Kaspersky over others. Sorry for being off topic.
