Problems installing KIS7 after tried KIS8
Egil 13.12.2007 20:54 hello, i got major problems trying this ALPHA. http://fileforum.betanews.com/detail/Kaspe...ty/1110196590/1
im a paid customer of KIS 7, now i wanna tried this one out, i installed it(without removing KIS7), the setup tried to uninstall KIS 7 i think, but wasent able to stop the service, i closed KIS 7, and installation proceeded without error, i restarted, and then i still saw KIS 7 in my add remove programs, i tried to uninstall it, but i got the message, thats only allowed for program that is installed, ok no worries, i tested KIS 8, and it seems nice, no slowdowns ect, but since update was deactivated, i figured, 1 day test was enough, i uninstalled KIS 8, rebooted, wanna install KIS 7 again, setup started, i selected custom install, removed the stuff i dident need(spam + parental), click start install, then nothing happens, no error nothing, i restarted, tried to install KIS 7 again, now i get the error that the installation need to restart before it will install, after many restart still same error?, so im pretty much unable to install KIS 7. :-(
i located my KIS7 install folder, and saw nothing was removed ?
though when i manually try to delete the folder i get this error :
Not able to delete ADIALHK, i search for the file in my services, its not there, but i still see that the KIS7 service is still there? set to automatic startup, what i need from you, is an file that can erradicate all traces of KIS 7 and KIS8 propably(so i can Install KIS7 again)
Im sorry if i used stupid actions when i tried ur ALPHA, but i guess, its usefull in ur final product hehe
Ok i finally was able to uninstall KIS7, so i could install it again, here is what i did, i started the install, i get the error to restart, i then went into my temp folder, and located files from KIS7 installation, i ran the MSI file(without closing down initial setup), now i got the option to uninstall KIS7, i did, after restart, i was finally able to install KIS7 again :-)

hello
it's not a good idea to let kis 8 remove previous versions at this point. you know it's an alpha, the main focus here is to get the program working (and all features included) and then the installer
No kidding :-), well actually i see this as an KIS7 error :-) Lucian Bara 13.12.2007 21:26 why? when you install on top it's the new installer that determines the course of action with other installed applications
im a paid customer of KIS 7, now i wanna tried this one out, i installed it(without removing KIS7), the setup tried to uninstall KIS 7 i think, but wasent able to stop the service, i closed KIS 7, and installation proceeded without error, i restarted, and then i still saw KIS 7 in my add remove programs, i tried to uninstall it, but i got the message, thats only allowed for program that is installed, ok no worries, i tested KIS 8, and it seems nice, no slowdowns ect, but since update was deactivated, i figured, 1 day test was enough, i uninstalled KIS 8, rebooted, wanna install KIS 7 again, setup started, i selected custom install, removed the stuff i dident need(spam + parental), click start install, then nothing happens, no error nothing, i restarted, tried to install KIS 7 again, now i get the error that the installation need to restart before it will install, after many restart still same error?, so im pretty much unable to install KIS 7. :-(
i located my KIS7 install folder, and saw nothing was removed ?
though when i manually try to delete the folder i get this error :

Egil 13.12.2007 21:14 QUOTE(Lucian Bara @ 13.12.2007 21:01)
helloit's not a good idea to let kis 8 remove previous versions at this point. you know it's an alpha, the main focus here is to get the program working (and all features included) and then the installer
No kidding :-), well actually i see this as an KIS7 error :-) Lucian Bara 13.12.2007 21:26 why? when you install on top it's the new installer that determines the course of action with other installed applications
