KIS/KAV/WKS/FS bugs only. Posting something is broken without a test case
will not push the issue forward or the trace logs. Japes 13.12.2007 18:57 this build cannot be install on Vista SP1 RC1 .

KAV Installer(german) stops with popup: "error 1402"

Hmm...our esteemed developers are clearly having 'issues' offsetting performance versus effectiveness with these builds:

1) The good news is the the keylogtests are all now picked up (pop-up warnings with options)
2) The bad news is that the folder refresh delay issue is back! - I sincerely hope you can overcome this guys (again!).

The system "hangs" after allowing JournalRecord Hook from the popup. "Hangs"= no high CPU/mem usage but I can't click on anything with my mouse (no response), ALT+TAB doesn't help. Had to put my OS to Sleep (biggrin.gif) and after Wake Up (all via keyboard) everything is OK. I heard the sound when a popup appears just before the system goes to sleep but I couldn't see what it was. TwinBit 14.12.2007 00:38 KIS hangs when i choose:

"Pause Protection" ... "Enable Protection Again" ... "By user request only" "K" Systry-icon hangs - no reaction for several seconds. (estimated ~ 60-90 sec.) Windows restart isn't possible during this time. (no reaktion by "avp.exe")

Seems to concern all KIS/KAV versions. Even the .125 is affected. Today I received an update and the service kept crashing over and over again pulling up this warning box to send to Kaspersky, like a dmp file and 2 other files I think. Over and over it did this. About 5 times till I uninstalled it and started over, but now I am afraid once I reboot it will be back again

Can anyone confirm? or is there a place to post release issues? I've been holding off on testing the latest beta since I had many slow downs on the few I have tried

Yes. I confirm this. I am also in trouble since yesterday. Kaspersky is dumping memory with every update and saying that previous service fail. I think this is due to yesterday update (klfwl,klctrl, klick etc...). I am going to post it in Protection for HOME user forum. Event Log screen shot is below:

Can confirm that this is happening with Build 308 plus the previous build (I have uninstalled 308 and installed previous as a test), plus KIS is also asking for a reboot after the dumps have been created. dash1.gif Sjoeii 15.12.2007 00:57 can't confirm.

Nice Signature by the way redbull21 15.12.2007 01:34 Since beginning of MP1-Beta it makes my Win Explorer slow. Navigation sidebar fills up slowly. At first sidebar is half-finished, then all content disappears again and then it comes up completely. When klicking on the "+" to open subfolders, it needs a half second.

This happens in default-config of KIS, too.

On build 7.0.0.125 I don't have this problem, not even in a high-level config.

I have made a trace log when opening Win Explorer and navigating between folders. Name of log is "redbull21_MP1_308.zip". I will upload it to ftp://data.kaspersky.ru/
VIIZ 15.12.2007 02:47 Well, our systems configuration is different but I myself have no problems since yesterday that I installed v7.0.1.308, very good version!!(IMO v7.0.0.125 was worst experienced I had ever)...
I will examine 7.0.1.308 deeply for any bugs...

And friends what is this VB100 recent news that Kaspersky failed it?! Is it critical that we failed?(Thank you if explain it for me)

Thanks...but things have taken a decided turn for the worse. Every time I boot KIS Build 308 fails completely first by advising that there has been a serious error and providing dumps to send to the Lab, then saying that p:art of a service has failed (sys tray icon greyed out) and then it corrects itself, then it shows that the latest updates downloaded are for 13th December 18:09:26, after which an update is attempted, it shows 100 % complete but the last set of entries are 'File Rolled Back'...and then I am stuck because the update fails to end and it is only by switching off the PC that it stops.

I have tried to unistall Build 308 a second time so as to go back to the previous build but the uninstall hangs half way thorough and never completes.

Does nay one have any advise as to how I can ccompletely remove Build 308?

Can anyone help me with completely installing this Build? I need to do so urgently (i) as it is close to rendering my PC unusable due to the continual failed attempts to update signatures and (ii) so that I can try the next build when it comes out in the hope that whatever has been introduced in this build that is at odds with my PC has been resolved.

I believe that there is a removal tool that may do the trick but I have never downloaded it or used it. Is that the way to go? A recommendation from one of the more learned of the bretheren would be most welcome...or should I start a separate thread on this? If so then just say the word. bc.gif

Try to uninstall/remove and install again. If you struggle to uninstall, do as shown below
Try to use the removal tool: http://support.kaspersky.com/faq/?qid=208279463 (link is temporarily down at the moment, try in the near future)
try to use Windows Installer Cleanup utility: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301

try to click start>run>regedit
Navigate to hkey_local_machine\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\run

Have tried the uninstall/remove and install again but have never completed the uninstall as the installer comes back to say that an error has occurred (very close to the end of the process at which it point rollback occurs). Never seen this happen before. ai.gif

I was going to try an uninstall in safe mode and see if that works before trying the removal tool. Would recommend this approach or not bothering and going straight for using the removal tool? A further pointer here would be much appreciated.

Once I get this build uninstalled I will try to install Build 319 because notice that it appears to have a fix available for the update problem with 125 & 308, which I believe that I am suffering from.

Hope that it works out as I am sad with KIS not working properly. icon20.gif

Hi dawgg

The removal tool worked a treat and I managed to remove Build 308 successfully. Have now installed Build 319 and it now back to the testing a little wiser than before. Only issue is that I have tried to activate using the besta I used for 308 and it is not being accepted; code 31/advising me to try again in an hour or two...I presume that given the time it must be because the activation servers are being maintain/backed up or something. Will try again then otherwise will log a bug on the Build 319 bug thread. As I cannot get updates until I have activated the product I will not know until I do if my original problem has been resolved.
