8.0.0.56 better than 78

IA64 12.12.2007 03:44 I tried different versions of KAV from 56 to 78 , I must say that the 8.0.0.78 is very unstable and crash my system

My windows never crashed since a year or so in that way. Explorer freezes and task manager is not accessible anymore I have to hold the power button for like few seconds to turn it off and reboot.

This happens when i resume protection or when i exit Kaspersky then reload it.

I get

Unhandled exception 0xc0000005 occured

And it floods my HDD with around 400 MBs of logs and dump files each time it crashes .

Any suggestion ? richbuff 12.12.2007 03:49 Yes. Zip up and upload the dumps to the server: http://forum.kaspersky.com/index.php?s=&am...st&p=384213 IA64 12.12.2007 03:56 you want me to upload 205 MB ? Whizard 12.12.2007 04:09 You should pack it up and upload in parts. IA64 12.12.2007 04:13 Is the tiny dump file enough to upload ? richbuff 12.12.2007 04:21 Honestly, no, the bigger the better. You have a compression utility? IA64 12.12.2007 04:32 OK I'm uploading the 90 MB file ( .rar ) . My ISP consider me as abusing when uploading huge files.. u know not all ISP are like videotron or cox..

ALL for a better Kaspersky Antivirus..

Cross fingers.

Karim.
Whizard 12.12.2007 04:35 You can upload a medium one, but you know you can compress them right? Memory dumps are very compactable. IA64 12.12.2007 04:45 it's a 471 MB compressed to 86 MB RAR file. Whizard 12.12.2007 04:56 Well thats something. Try to upload only the most recent crash files. There is a time-stamp on the files. Lucian Bara 12.12.2007 15:29 well 78 shouldn't be so prone to crashing, only 89. it might be related to the emulator/heuristic analyzer (78 got i too), it is an important feature or to the beta network drivers.
